Holiday Hand Luggage: Beauty Products

The holiday that I've recently come back from was my first holiday with a my man and it also landed over our anniversary. Its also the first holiday I've been on since I can remember. So I was all panicky about what to bring. As it turns out the things I brought did come in use and I would have been lost without them. Anyway I'll not bore you anymore and just get right into it.

Carex Hand Gel
Though not normally a germaphobe I have never been to the places I was about to go. In the airport/restaurant I didn't know how clean the toilets would be, if there would be decent soap etc etc. I loved this hand gel. It smelled just like normal soap on the hands-not of strong alcohol like most hand gels I have used. I picked this up for £1 in Sainsburys. Which was a bargain. Also it didn't irritate my sensitive skin at all.

Green People Sun Lotion SPF 15
The idea behind this was to get my protection on early. I didn't want to have to wait to activate my skin protection. Especially on the face and shoulders. I've known people to get sunburn just after they have left the airport when they are waiting around for buses etc. I was prepared. I got this as a sample in my June Glossybox and I have to admit I was dubious about it. I didn't think I'd be going anywhere on holiday at this stage and the tan accelerator bit put me off. I can now say it is a brilliant sun protector. It has both UVA and UVB filters and it is 82% organic. As it turns out this was a lifesaver for me. I didnt invest in UV protectant sun glasses so the only protection I had was my SPF. As it turns out the Nivea sun lotion I brought was fine on the rest of my body but really irritated my eyes. I couldn't even open them without them watering it was awful. This Green People stuff was a god send. I could put it around my eyes without a problem. Thank you Green People.

TRESemmé Heat Defense Protection (with UV filter)
Again the idea behind this was to get my protection on early. I used it just before I got on the plane as a protective barrier against the extreme lack of moisture in the air of the cabin as well as for the travel to the hotel. I loved this product too. It wasn't heavy on my hair or oily and I love the smell. I definitely noticed a difference if I didn't use this product. Also this lasted a hell of a long time. I still have a good half a bottle left and I was spraying this stuff religiously. An added personal bonus for me is I can re-use the spray bottle. TREShappy.

Carmex Moisturising Lip Balm
Love this stuff. It has SPF protection. Smells amazing.Need I go on? I'm sure everyone has realised the wonder of Carmex already and if you have not you are missing out. Oh and its half the price I paid for it before I left in Superdrug so if you love this stock up now.

Optrex Soothing Eye Drops (For Itchy Eyes)
I have bad hayfever and I wasnt taking any chances. Also, I was worried about my eyes getting irritated by the dry air on the plane and these helped a lot. They also made my eyes look brighter and less tied after the flight which was an added bonus.

Biotherm Remineral (Dry To Very Dry Skin)
This was something I brought exclusively for the aeroplane. I used it on the way over and didnt think much of it. On the way home I was tired and just could not be bothered with a skincare routine. However half way through the flight I could feel the difference in my skin. It felt horrible. It didn't feel or look like my skin. I looked much older and every flaw on my face was much more prominent . I then put this on my face and I saw an improvement.

The best thing was everything listed above was under the 100ml maximum allowance for hand luggage. Everything I brought lasted the entire trip even though I was generously applying everything. I might book myself another trip soon just to use the rest of this stuff up ;)

This post might be a bit late into the summer but I hope it helps somebody :)

    1. I love it. Such good value for money and you don't become dependent on it like you do Vaseline!

Love your blog by the way :)

    1. I always lose mine/forget mine when I really need it so I end up buying it when I'm out. Then when I don't need it I seem to have loads I never use!
