Obsession Confession/Product Rave: MUA Lipstick

MUA: Lipstick
Nectar-Shade 16
Shade 13
Left swatch-One sweep of the product
Right swatch-Buildup of product.

I recently discovered MUA cosmetics on my search to find a pigmented red lipstick that didn't break the bank. I started off not being able to find a decent one for under £10 and I really didn't want to spend so much on something that I could easily forget about or lose. I went to my local Superdrug and after failing to find a lipstick worth the money I found-shoved into a corner- MUA cosmetics. At first I was dubious because of the low price-a measly £1 per lipstick then I swatched the product and was a-mazed. It was so pigmented!
Both shades have a wonderful creamy formula that keep lips moisturized yet not sticky so that your hair doesn't get stuck in it when there is wind-which is a pain in the you-know-what. They also have incredibly long wear,a huge bonus as I find the cheaper lipsticks need constant re-application throughout the day, and therefore end up less value because so much product is constantly being used up.
Shade 16-Nectar was a an impulse buy. Orange lipstick is all the rage this summer and again the price of the product made me buy it. I love it. Its the perfect orange colour for me. Although the initial first sweep isn't as pigmented as the build up. It is a build-able colour all the same. I can choose whether to have a coral lip or a more orange lip depending on how adventurous I feel.

Pros: Shade 13 is in my opinion the perfect red lipstick. Its cheap, pigmented and holds its colour for a long time-the swatches don't actually justify how pigmented they are. I love how versatile Shade 16 is giving me both a coral lip or an orange lip. Also there is a detachable bottom with coloured lip gloss which I have shown in the pictures. Not many people know this-in fact this information isn't even available in the description of the Lipsticks

Cons: The packaging is a bit inconsistent. One of the lids is loose while the other is tight. I have to be careful so that when I take the lid off it doesn't clip the top of the lipstick. Another thing that bothers me are the names of the shades. Numbers are easily forgettable. If I tell anyone what colour I'm wearing I forget which number they are and have to look at the product to see.

Overall I love these and for £1 you can't go wrong!

Do you have any of the MUA range? What do you think about it?

    1. They are. You can buy the entire collection of these lipsticks for the same price of one MAC lipstick!

  4. I love them! Shade 1 is my absolute favourite, it's a deep red. I have about 4 others including the ones you've swatched here as well and they're all really nice. Their eyeshadows make up about 90% of my collection as well.

    1. Would you say the eye shadows are just as good pigment wise? Its amazing how cheap they are and how much pigment you get considering the quality and price of some of the alternatives.
